Title: Avet trx 50w or okuma mak 50w? Lol

Getting a new 50w, don't know which one to get. Trx 50w used for 600$ or new mak 50w sea for 550$. Thoughts?

My purchase would be Shimano then the Avet..

The trex is heavy and wide, but it puts on quite the show when it comes to stopping power, and dealing with heat.  For the money, I would opt for the Avet.  The Okuma is a great reel as well, and has the warranty.

Thanks guys. Iv been leaning makaira the whole time. The guy selling the avet was throwing shade on the mak. When I inquired a little he stoped talking. "And here's your sign" I guess huh? Lol

Oh and for the fishing we do, (land based shark fishing) the Tiagra's don't put out enough drag to stop the big boys. They'd handle our normal case load, but I want something that could handle a (if I was lucky enough to hook one) 12 foot tiger. Chances are id get spooled on a Tiagra.
