Hi, just got a new one to replace the existing one that is failing. Shimano said I need to use a light grease for the inside and heavier grease on the outside. Can anyone shed light on what I need to do to properly grease the new bearing? Thanks in advance.
Heavy grease on the outside so you can remove it in the future. On the inside, I use oil, not grease. Unless the grease is very light -- that is, more like oil than grease -- you run the risk of the clutch bearing not working as an anti-reverse. The oil I use most often is Corrosion-X; I use Cal's Grease everywhere I need grease.
