Hello,
My name is Kostadin from Bulgaria.
I have a problem with my Stella 2001sw4000pg.
The pinion must be replaced!
Does anyone know where I can buy a pinion (new or used).
I'm looking for Ibe and other sites but I do not find it.
Thanks for the help.....
I'm afraid that part and other parts for that reel will be very hard to find. Shimano doesn't keep parts around for their reels. If you could find another one that has the same parts it would be the best thing.
at the very least, we'd need schematics, or even a part number. i checked for the schematics and came up empty.

i did find the schematic for the 2000 and the 5000, but not the 4000pg.

i also found this warning.
QuoteDo not disassemble the reel
This reel is a precisely manufactured product.
Disassembling the reel may result in decreased performance.
Problems caused by unauthorized disassembly are not covered by warranty.
Please note that the number of adjusting washers
may not be the same as shown in the exploded views.
(Adjustment will vary with each individual product.)
Can you tell me sites selling used parts? Where else can I search for?
thanks in advance
Typical advise for Stella issues, is to send it back to the manufacturer for service. At the very least, it is worth a call to them.
However, the reel is more than 15 years old and has been bought!
I would first check with Shimano, then you could try checking with Shimano authorized service centers..

It may be worth your time to contact JDL treasures...

Or other 3rd party parts sellers.
John
I'm sorry but my English is bad!
I will not be able to talk to them.
i could not find a schematic. if you have a schematic (or can find one) and get a part number, i can check for a gear, but i need a part number.

The model is 01 sw stella 4000pg.
4000 and 5000 are the same difference is in the spool.
The scheme is to the right of the inscription.
Thanks ..
took a look and the japanese part numbers won't help here in the USA. i would need a part number that starts with "RD." those are parts that are available here. i think your reels is "JDM," meaning japanese domestic market. we would not have parts available for your reel here in the USA. i am not aware of a good "japanese connection" that anyone here has for shimano or daiwa parts. these are the only guys that i know of. you actually might have to ship your reel to japan for service.

this is the closest thing i can find.

i can check for the availability of part number RD 15751 if you wish. no guarantee that it will fit.
honestly, kostadin, if your reel is a 2001 model, it will be 16 years old and is probably a lost cause.
I`ll call Shimano Service Center in Holland tomorrow. Keep you informed if available.
If not available you can order the Pinion Gear (part 132) from PLATH in Japan.
The prize is USD 20.09 plus unknown shipping costs.
I placed some orders already, (paid PayPal) and can recommend PLATH as fully reliable. Within maximal two weeks the parts will arrive.

are 08 and 2001 and indication of the model years?
I will check with JDL treasures for you.

Alan,
good idea. The numbers are ingraved in the reel foot.
Hello,
Stella 2001 has a right-hand drive to the pinion while Stella 2008 is left!
I hope to become a twin from Twin Power 2002 JDM 4000PG.
Shimano first released Stella and the next year Twin Power is hoping for the parts to be official.
Greetings ...
this is why i don't work on shimano spinners..... :-\
