A friend has this reel and asked me the value ?
I found some info about this company Googling around and it sems it started out making Fishing Line First .
The Reel is very intresting as it Resembles several Makers of the early years yet not exactly in that the number of side plate screws for instance.Must me some inside the plates to hold it together .
Would love to see the internals to maybe judge a little more on it's origin .

G.H.Mansfield started out making twine & thread in 1821 and silk fishing line after the Civil War. They also distributed fishing tackle made by other companies. Your reel was most likely made by Horrocks Ibbotson or Montague.
