Reel Repair by Alan Tani

I was hoping you guys were going to swing by San Jose on you way back. Next time.

I need two parts for an Orvis Mach IV reel. I have tried Orvis and they do not have the part.
The parts I need are seen below and are user friendly to install. It's the two parts in the lower left corner. Any ideas on where I can get them? I am based in New Zealand

Good thing SWMBO is not on the AT Forum (I guess one of the perks of being a moderator  ) because I would be sleeping outdoors if she knew I posted this photo publicly.  Needless to say, the pack sleep quite comfortably every night!  - john

I'm with Swami; I suspect those are asbestos "brake lining" style biscuits that were typical of the time.  Regardless, they need to step aside.  Do a full service, upgrade to the CF drags, and enjoy that classic reel. - john

Very cool interesting collections, Paul. And for wonderful reasons. Love it! Great addition to this site too. If I ever run across a Reelcat I'll let you know.
