Title: BFS Rods
Post by: YellowLabs on February 02, 2022, 09:09:34 PM
Been reading posts about BFS style fishing in the bait casting section, while there are reams about various reels and modifications, etc, no one mentions what rods they are using.  So, what rods are everyone using to throw this ultra light stuff?

As a side note, I have been looking for a 2 or 3 piece, light to medium light casting rod with no success, any one have any suggestions?

Thanks for any input or ideas you might have.

some vintage glass pistol-grips fit the category...  not expert enough to rattle off exact models
I'd start w/ lightest Fenwicks; then research specific models w/ lightest specs, and
various discussions of those type of rods should pop up...  like, alt topics on FiberglassFlyrodders

Japan has whole sub-culture w/ phenomenal quality & astronomical prices...  this is pretty cool:

Thanks for the links, lots of good information there.

Can we potentially talk about the action of the ideal BFS rod? Qua tidying dimensions is nice too but I dont wanna get ahead if myself

gotta' load/unload w/ 1/8 oz. terminal weight, OR LESS!!!
considering your DIY zeal w/ frugal-yet-quality leanings,
start looking for a 2/3-wt. glass flyrod to rebuild
