Title: Servicing Pro Gear Violator series
Post by: JRD on November 01, 2016, 11:56:58 PM
I just purchased a nice used model and trying to service it.  There are two really cheap torx screws that appear to hold the side plate on.  Removing them provided no results.  A small Philips in the gear cover also did not let the side plate come off.  Removing the handle, star and washers didn't work either.  The only faster left on the plate was the eccentric lever screw.  I didn't remove that since the schematics show what appears to be a Penn style eccentric and spring.

Has anybody opened one up yet?  What's the secret?

The secret was to look under the eccentric lever for the third screw.  Geez I feel stupid.  Breakdown Picts to follow tomorrow.
