Title: ''Do you wax spool?
Post by: RTT on August 27, 2015, 11:24:38 PM
Hi everyone

Some years back I saw an ad for a guy who would strip your line wax the spool and put your line back.  Ever since then I wax my spools with several coats of carnauba wax before line is added.  When it comes to aluminum spools I will take all the protection I can get.   Does anyone else do this?

Always.
I use a liquid wax on Aluminum.
After a trip I'll reel the line on another reel and wax the spool. It is worth the time taking care of your gear.
