Title: Gudebrod dacron line
Post by: oc1 on February 08, 2018, 11:55:44 AM
Does anyone know if the IGFA-style Gudebrod Dacron, green spot or blue spot, was available in the early 1950's?  Thanks.

No, but I did find an internet blurb that said Ashaway presented Dacron line in 1952. If so, it sounds reasonable that Gudebrod did too.

Wow.  Thank you very much for that Doc.  I always think of Ashaway as the nylon guys and Gudebrod as the Dacron guys.  Will follow it up from the other angle.

I have a few NOS spools of IGFA Greenspot 2 lb and 4 lb. Dacron that appear to be from the 1960's, based upon the graphics on the boxes that I would love to trade.  I have no idea what anyone would use it for, so I would guess that it might be a fairly rare item.

It's way too small for me Randy.  IGFA line has to break at or below the rated strength too.  It would be sort of interesting to know if it is still good though.
