I found a new Everol for Daron:
https://www.bdoutdoors.com/forums/threads/wts-custom-dipped-12-0-everol-2-speed.671140/
Now that is seriously wild :o
I'm on it! ;)
I have dealt with Dustin (the seller) a couple times, and found him to be a straight shooter.
He buys, uses, and sells 'unique' quality reels. I'd guess the colors caught his eye, but he posted he didn't have time to use it like he should.
Its a real "purdy-lookin'' reel!
It has already been shipped. Dustin is definitely a straight shooter!
That's awesome! ;D
Wow
I need my head examined. :P
I can't wait to see the pic of you in the sand with that getup. Including the Braid belt. Don't break it.

I was told that by an ebay seller, so not sure if it is true.
I bought a high dollar reel today off Bloody Decks and the seller shipped it today, just in case.
Do we have to wait to know what a "high dollar reel" is? I bet another Everol. Dominick
You bet right Dominick. ;)
It is definitely Different.
that must be an Acid wrap Everol?
escaped from the summer of LOve?
Made on Haight Street?
Bob Marleys Reel?
Daron, don't look now but someone graffiti-ed your reel. :D ;D Dominick
Daron I want to see a 10' Tiger on the end of that :) Chris.
Wow Daron? Just sayin??? Ha ha. I like it a lot! :o I think you will get a lot of comments, maybe out of envy? or out of disgust?
All fun and pun intended!! ;) Seems like you got a good deal in the "package" too. Now you go show us what it will do?
Oops now you need a new fishin outfit? Maybe some tie dye and flip flops. You already have a bandanna i,m sure.
I,m sure hoping you get some good fishing time with this set up. Kinda makes the 9/0 penn look like an unpainted lady ? ???
There was a lot of work, talent, and artistic ability that went into this "outfit" wear it with pride!!!! Best of Fishing!!
Nice work Daron - stoked for ya!

You sure won't be able to be inconspicuous, that's for sure! ;D
I know it is over the top.
Butt, it is a one of a kind.
Underneath all that Graffiti is a true fishing machine.
This reel was customized by Barrett.
A rod maker based out of Port Lucie, Florida.
They make top notch gear.
This is no different than a wildly painted 285 Delmar, just on a bigger scale.
I can't wait to get it and take some pictures to send to Paolo.
The President of Everol, Italy.
I thank you all for your support and comments.
Sometimes I can't help myself. ;)
No Bandana Gary. I still have my Hair. ;D
No Tye Dye either, but I definitely will be wearing flip flops when I hit the beach again. :P
Nice one Daron, amazing colours, reminds me of my teens in the 60's.
Now where did I put those shades!!
Mike.
Nice Daron, but what is that stuff? It just says "dipped".
-steve
I'm with you Daron! :) That's a dream combo with personality. I didn't realize that was a Barrett custom. You have to make a case for it. That should never be tucked away. ;D
I like it Mr. D. Its wild and the gentleman that did this at Barrett has some serious talent!!! Agreed, it has to go into a display case to show it off.
Great purchase, .. Lou

There is only one place that rig belongs, and it found its way home.

I know some guys that could decorate the case and rod for you ;D Boat too!

Steve,
This is the latest thing. They are making everything from motorcycle and gun parts to fishing reels.
Hydro dip they call it.
They use a special film and place it in warm water, then dip the part in and it transfers to the object.
That's some Pretty Cool Beans brother Daron......Bill
Check out this Video.
They are dipping everything Motorcycle parts to helmets.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DxBUn4m0gM
That reel screams for an angler with a matching outfit. I see the shirt here but a nice "dipped" straw hat to match and a bandana too. I'm not knocking it by any means, it's a unique one off everol and Daron is the man.
He just don't know how to dress to party with a reel like this, we need to help him out.
That's one nice set up. Sure, plain Jane will catch fish but something about looking at that everol just makes you happy. It couldn't have found a better home.
This might be a good technique for cleaning up banged up old Internationals. Hide all the rash with a layer of film.
Thank you for the explanation an the video link Daron. I'm behind the times and just realized my new Crocs were hydro dipped. That's not quite like having a new Everol though. May it bring you the best of luck on the beach.
-steve
Yes, that is one unique reel, enjoy it Daron.
I've seen that dipping process a while back, Is it expensive?
Sal
What A Perfect Reel For An Everol Collector...... Just When You Think You Have Seen Everything Along Comes Something Like This. Can See Lots Of Applications Where This Would Work. Back In The Day You Could Buy A decal, That Was Film On Paper You Soaked In Water And Applied to A Surface. Back In My Day You Would Stop A Stuckeys On Route 66 And Buy A Decal From All The States You Had Visited....Like A Tattoo For Your Ride. Hope Your Special Reel Brings Much Joy And Many Fish.

It wasn't for me. The price on that reel was already good.
Barrett rods charge $250 for this service, but evidently this guy is on the inside.
I got the plate too for $100, It alone without customizing is usually $200.
I haven't purchased the rod, but I guess I should.
It is $550 shipped, Normally $750 from Barrett.
I've always wanted one, but shyed away from the price.
The Hydro dipping materials look pretty inexpensive. Probably $50 to get started, but it looks to me like it would take lots of practice to be good at it.
This rod is no joke.
reading street art when fishing,,,it's good to know who's turf your on,,,,this is a very cool set up ;D
Glad its yours Daron, beautiful injoy, cheers Don.
Daron I can't think of anyone more deserving of this reel than you :)

that's the coolest custom rod ever ;D
Cmon man it says shark on the rod. Pull the trigger.
It's a set Daron! Don't break up the band.
No rod? I think you have to keep it as a set too. It just wouldn't be right. C'mon... we'll crowd source it and everyone kick in a few bucks.
-steve
It is paid for.
I have a Monster Shark Series Barrett in my Arsenal.
Holy Cow!
I need help. ;)
You're the man fir this job. As best I can see those guides are from Winthrop Tool, the best made. With tip guides alone would've pushed three bills to order, and that appears to be a Winthrop butt as well though hard fir me to see. Gutsy move, Mav.
Way to go Daron, your collection is now out of this world, no one can even come close ;)
I do want to see you with that set in action one day, a matching shirt would make it complete.
Enjoy it buddy!
Sal
That's a keeper ;D
Woohoo Daron - you are beyond help ;D
How about a matching knob? I like a good challenge!!!
................Lou
Hey D,
I have to say that is my favorite Everol you own! ...and what a cool rod and belt. You're gonna be the envy of the beach, bro.
That's just awesome! Have fun with it

Lou,
As much as I would like one of your knobs on this one of a kind reel.
Everol Handles are made as a unit.
The can't be taken apart without destroying them.
I guess they could be drilled out, but then you would need to make a whole new stem.

YES, THE KNOB! Lou is the right man for the job! And what about a swirling fractal brush pattern on the handle?
That is so cool. Besides the shirt that Sal mentioned, of course you will need a matching top hat, George Clinton style.
I was just messin with you Mr. D., although the thought intrigues me!!!
Its already one of a kind and very special. There's no other like it and it couldn't have gone to a better guy.
All the best, .. Lou
PS you would like the starburst pattern when I get it perfected. Its like an explosion of colors!!!!
The Funky 12/0 Everol has arrived.
Lou, this particular model has a removable handle.
I will take it off and send it to you.
I will get in line like all the others for one of your masterpiece handles.
No pressure, if you don't want to tackle it, a 5/0 from the boss will look nice on this.

This Plate is something else! Thick 1" Neoprene backing. I really like it.
I know what it feels like to have a cheap fighting plate dig into your legs.
This is not one of them.

The Clear coat on the Hydro dip looks very Durable.
Whoever did this for Barrett has some skills.

The rod will be here on Friday.
I got a good deal on this set up. It is not for everyone, but I Like it. ;)
Love it ;D
Great balls o' fire !!
It's a modern day "flower child" masterpiece !!
Flower Childness was a little before my time, but I am diggin' it.
Wait until you see the Rod.
It Is a True Master Piece.
The seller finally had remorse when he was packing it up for me.
This is the most I have ever spent on a rod, but this guy.
Peter Barrett. He is just like me. He just has more resources, more time and money, but the passion is the same.
Good Stuff. ;)
I am glad to have his top notch fighting plate and Monster Shark Rod in my Arsenal.
The reel is just a bonus.
He didn't make that one. Just put a twist on it for me.
I know where it came from. ;)
Well Mr. D, I'm honored. I really have to complete the Starburst pattern. I work on it every day when I have a chance. I'm just not there yet.
If I can get it right, it will blow you away. As far as I'm aware, ... no one has had any total success with it. I am close though.
What you have is unique and truly one of a kind. I personally think it was a great purchase. I'll have to come up with a special way for you to display that bad boy!
Enjoy it in good health Sir!
..............Lou
PS please send me some closeup pics of the handle sideplate when u can. If I cant mix the Acrylic here, I'll be on the lookout for a wild color.

Yeah, definitely a top hat. And a celebrity shark fishing youtube series... I'm hearing a Stevie Ray Vaughn soundtrack.
I sent the owner of Everol Italy some pictures of this reel and he was intrigued.
He contacted the source for some samples of his reels with the dip treatment.
I think I opened up something here. ;)
Hope they give you credit.....like calling it the shark special
Not sure how I missed this, nice score Daron! Quite the reel! I think we need to see a photo of your Everol's lined up!
It might not be a bad thing,,,,my grandpa told me this story 50 times about a 5cent piece a guy up his street owned it came out the back door of a mint and a couple of years ago it sold for 3.1 million dollars :o or maybe it was just a store :D
I'm just a middle man on this.
