Title: Reading Serial Numbers on Shimano Triton Trolling Series Reels
Post by: 43eggharbor on January 20, 2020, 04:58:28 PM
Hoping someone can explain how to read the serial numbers on some Triton Trolling Series TTS 30's, 50W's and 80/130 Beastmasters.
Here are a few serial numbers:
TTS 30 Reels: 44185 / 16411
TTS 50 W Reels: 18462 / 57990 / 45727 /58631
80/130 Beastmaster: 05035
I don't see any correlation of the numbers, so possibly the serial number doesn't contain anything other than just a number.

I am sure that the serial numbers on those reels are just that, serial numbers. They do not give you any other information.

The Shimano range have little round stickers on them, that give place of manufacture, year and month of production.

Hope this helps.

Best.

Terry.

There are normally two digits stamped on the rod mount foot.  Say maybe, FF.  These two digits indicate the year and month of manufacture.  You can find the table with the corresponding year and month by googling, "shimano reel date codes".
