Title: Titus t30 sticky freespool
Post by: jlnel on September 30, 2020, 01:10:41 AM
Hi all,

Someone gave me a titus t30 lever to see what could be done..

When the drag lever is returned to free spool it doesnt disengage until you mess with it and sometimes loosen knob?? Everything looks to be greased and oild ok and when apart the gears etc slide free on spool shaft.

The clicker doesn't work unless the knob on drag lever is real loose also.

On the left side, opposite from handle, the is an opening, seems to be missing something,  maybe a sticker?? I was just going to turn a small aluminum disk and epoxy in as it doesnt seem to be threaded or show anything in schematics for it?

Any ideas?

Thanks!

In reference to the freespool I would check the spool shafts travel where it contacts and sits in the palm side plate and the handle side plate, burs or wear could prevent the spool shaft from traveling back to the zero position.  Could also be a bearing that has the inner race sticking to the spool shaft in some spots.

The open cavity is covered by a decal, the Okuma name with the bear pictured, they are held in the same way, with glue.
