Will the hexagon clicker gear on this newell spool work on a standard squidder side plate?

I use them and they seem to work just fine but I don't use the clicker function much. I only use it to keep it from free-spooling too much while rigging up. I curious to read other's opinions on these.

Mike,

Thanks for the reply, it sounds like it should be fine for my needs also, but I would like to be sure the clicker function will work properly with the standard squidder sideplate before I purchase it.

If anyone else has any knowledge on this reel, I would appreciate comments.

I used to use them alot on my squidders, Randy always seemed to have some. I believe I used them because they had more clearance for my magnets. (?) If I'm not mistaken they have a small lip on them (x-cellent for fine thumbing). They work fine!
