I have an old ABU Garcia No5000 like the one above. The knob is in bad shape, does anyone know if the post is the same size as the Abu Garcia 6500C3?

I have extra knobs for the 6500C3's and was thinking about cutting off the knob of the No. 5000 and putting the knob of the 6500C3 on the post of the No. 5000

cant open your pic but BPS sells little handle covers for that reel and full handle assemblies also. I still fish my old 5000's; great reels and worth a new handle.

It's the Ambassadeur 5000 with the single grip and looks like a cream colored plastic.

i'd replace the whole asssembly and not mangle the original, just keep it. you can get a replacemnent dual paddle handle for about 10-12$. I replaced all mine, def worth it. used it last night throwing Spook, flawlessly.
