Bill it is a 50 lb test rod, though it could do 60 lb in a pinch. Here in So Cal we really don't pay much attention lure weight ratings, sorry so no info there. This rod will be used with bait and yoyo jigs for mid sized tuna in say the 80-100 lbs class.
Show-off....just kidding. Nice find!
Sweet. I know that many are moving on to more high-tech rods but I'd take a Calstar any day.
I have that same rod paired with a topless 12T and 50lb. One of my all time favorites. Lots of power but a soft enough tip to cast a sardine. Nice score
Never had one of those in my hands. A good friend out your way has two that he mounts different reels on for different occasions... Jeff
I took that set up on all my long trips on the Polaris Supreme for fishing bait for wahoo. A couple times I'd go the the rack to get it and it would be gone. Look around the boat and Tommy the skipper was fishing it, Oh well, keep throwing a bomb. I'm sure you'll put it to good use.
Score of the day!!!
These are excellent rods.
