Title: Crossed/Mis-marked Console Switches
Post by: Wally15 on April 29, 2015, 12:32:29 AM
Might want to check that all your console switches actually do what they're marked for.
Just ran across a crossed console switch issue with my '04 23WA. I was troubleshooting an intermittent rear bilge pump issue when I discovered that the "wiper switch" actually controls the fwd bilge pump. And this is obviously the original OE wiring. I don't have wipers and have never used that switch. The fwd bilge switch doesn't do anything (that I can tell). Usually only run the fwd bilge pump with the engine running and can't hear the pump. I've owned this boat for 5 years and never knew these adjacent switches were reversed. Thank goodness this is a very dry boat.
The rear bilge problem was a burnt contact in the switch. Just moved the load wire to an unused switch and changed the markings.

That will keep the boat pirates from running things.
