I need help with naming my boat. After 5 years of ownership, it's about time I gave it a name.
1) I thought about naming it after my wife, "Miss Anne", but when I'm out fishing, I don't really miss her.
2) I fish out of Mexico Beach, FL. They have an annual King tournament that helps fund MBARA (Mexico Beach Artificial Reef Association). Since I have never placed in the tourney, "MBARAssed" might be an appropriate name.
3) I like Sal's forum name, Alto Mare (and not because my wife is a nag). Could be translated as either "deep sea" or "high seas". Based on a couple of trips with some thirsty fishermen, high seas might be the better definition.
4) I like 70's music. "Rock & Reel"?
Reel Crazy?
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Seriously as per superstition, a boat or ship should always be named for a wife or lover.
Or both.
Hence the Catalina is " Crazy Lady" and the Chris Craft is " Grossy Neglect".
Don't ask me to explain the second as I respect the 11 year old rule!
"miss anne, but when im out fishin i dont miss her"

Besides the reels there are a couple of Penn stickers on that boat, one is in the center i'm not sure you could see it.

My friend in Florida's boat is named Bite Me.
Hey fish hog, I vote for Porpoise. From Vulgar Latin *porcopiscis ("porpoise", literally "pig-fish"), from Latin porcus ("pig") + piscis ("fish"). If the shoe fits...
"FORTHEHALIBUT"
Saw a commercial trawler here : " Drag Queen" ! I had a good laugh with that one.

This'n gets my vote, though there were many great and descripitive names.
While I can identify with what it's like being out there away the world/ family/land based cares, why not name it after your wife? It is tradition(female- loved one), it's also supposed to be good luck. Especially amongst the commercial fishing fleet.
