Title: Drag Scream[?] on an Ambassadeur
Post by: huknife on December 17, 2016, 07:33:15 PM
Hello,

I bought some used Ambassadeurs on ebay [4000 & 5000?]. They work well and all. But they don't seem to create a noise for when the fish drags line. Is this the norm with baitcast reels? I do realize the clicker on some larger reels, above size 6000 makes a noise when the fish drags out line, but the same noise persists when reeling in, with the clicker on, so the mechanism is different.

So, what reels, if any ambassadeurs have a mechanism similar to spinning reels? Do any baitcasters have that feature.

Thanks.

They have a silent dog so you don't get any clicking of the dog on the rachet on the retrieve.

That is the norm for bait casting reels that do not have a clicker button on the tail plate

The older Ambassaduer reels did have a clicker built in the main gear. It would click when line was pulled out under drag.
