Title: Absolutely amazing deal from GoodWill.
Post by: STRIPER LOU on February 22, 2018, 07:13:26 PM
Although most of the great deals from GW have fallen by the wayside, every once in a while you get lucky!

I think when this happens, it because someone probably doesn't know what the item is and just throws a price on it. Case in hand today!

A brand new double sided diamond stone and holder. Still in its original packing. 400  on one side, 1000 on the other. Non skid base and a neat clamping mechanism for securing it to a board or whatever. Its good sized, around 3"x12".

$5.99 for $2.99 at the 50% off deal. Happy, happy!

I also found several unused packs of pipe cleaners. I use at least a pkg or 2 a week here. These we not a great price and I mentioned it to one of the gals stocking shelves. I said that they were a bit overpriced. What are they? Pipe cleaners. Oh, OK, how about $1.99. Score times 2!!!!

Fishing goodies hardly ever make it out of the back room but I've been lucky enough to get a handful of vintage plugs and lures.

All have a great afternoon,  ..  Lou

Never see that in my GW store, I try to hit it at least once a week and always see three or four other old men shopping deals when I'm there.  Pretty sure most of them are far more diligent than I a, amd hit the store two or three times a week.

I'm at Home Depot quite a bit and GW is only a quarter or so mile from there so I make the rounds. Most times I just need to get out of the shop for a while.

Usually its a waste of time but on occasion, I luck out. A couple weeks ago I picked up  a really nice folding hand truck. Never seen one like it. Telescopes and locks in and out and up and down. Good size wheels, 4 of them and just a top shelf unit.

They had just brought it out from the back and the manager was messing with it as it wouldn't unfold. I was trying to help him with it and noticed one of the hinge pins was missing. He says, no big deal, you can get one from HD. I said its not a bolt but a tapered pin and I could turn one on my lathe. Its was marked $9.99. He crossed it off and put $6.00 on it and said, do you want it?  ;D

Its all fixed and hanging in the garage. I think you just have to keep hitting it if your in the area.

All have a great evening,  ..  Lou
