Title: Whats the difference?
Post by: jay2578 on March 03, 2014, 07:59:03 PM
Guys,
Apart from materials and finishes what are the differences between a 6500 rocket, and other 6500's?
I realise there are varying numbers of bearings, but are the guts the same in the handle end?
Cheers

Hi. The fastest way is to visit Pure Fishing's schematic collection, and type Rocket in the search box. Link attached. Then do the same for a C3, Blue yonder, Elite, yada, and you will note the diffs quite fast.
http://www.abugarcia.com/support/reel-schematics  Main diff will be sideplates with cast caps on both, a flattie, not a palmer. You'll see.

Thanks Ken,
Looks like gearing, spool release etc is the same across many 6500's.
Obvious differences being side plates, braking (block shape/size), cage construction (materials/finish/weight) and shiny bits!
