Title: Abu 5000 4-screw part number questions
Post by: Arkie_3_fan on July 10, 2015, 09:18:54 PM
I've got a 5000 4-screw (134541 is the serial number on the reel foot) that's been well used over the years and I've taken it apart to clean it up and get it back into shape.
One problem that I can see is that the bushing on the worm shaft near the gear looks a little rough.
I thought I would go ahead and replace the worm gear as well as the pawl, but I'm not sure of the part numbers.   I've looked at a number of schematics but I'm not sure which one applies to my reel.
Over the past few days, I've sent emails to several reel parts/repair places trying figure this out, but so far, none of them have emailed me back, so I thought I would turn to the forum.
Besides, I've got a couple of 5500's from the 70's and a newer one from the late 90's that I'll probably be working on and asking about soon enough.

Thanks in advance for the help.
