Alan usually does the trip report but I thought I would start beforehand.
I have the good fortune of heading down to PV to fish with the Osunas for the fourth time! We're going to do the 3.5 day at the islands then do an 8 hour inshore trip. We'll stay 2 nights then head back.
Getting stuff together.
These are this year's jigs we're bringing down.

Also bringing down some DTX minnows, Savage Gear crabs, and 1000 8 x 12 vacuum packer bags.
My buddy hooks us up with sweet rooms so we hooked him up with 100 and 130 lb setups. Makaira 20 and 50's.

Khanh's wrapping some UC rods, Invictus and Viper. They should be delivered soon.
More to come. Super excited!
Ben
Sounds like an awesome trip, when you departing?
Jan 28th we're heading to the islands.
Also bringing along a couple of these from lingcodjigs.
Changing out the hooks.

khanh is going to bring james' rods over. he says they are done. i may or may not bring a rod this time. maybe just a reel.
Great! I'll come pick them up prior.
I think I am only going to bring an inshore spinner.
Yes Ben you look pretty keen & xcited, have a good time, good luck, dont forget to leave some fish in the water for me, cheers Don.
Here's what James' rods will look like.
Khanh does some really nice work!

ben, i think we can work it out to go down with two rod tubes and come home with one. this way, james can take that second rod tube home with him and not have to worry about bring a rod tube himself.
That'd be great! Thx!
ok, let him know that he does not have to bring a rod tube.
Just got back Sunday night and starting to settle back into that work thing. What a bummer.
Trip was a blast, as always!
I'll add a few pics.
From the left, my buddy James, Alan, "Ranchero" Mike from AZ and myself

Mike likes his Pacifico, wait I thought we got 5 cases
(http://alantani.com/gallery/27/7348_05_02_19_8_15_47_270461638.jpeg)
On the ride out, the Osunas stopped and picked up a few squid.
We trolled some Nomads, no strikes.
The first day was spent flylining and balloon fishing squid and cabbies and drinking Pacificos until dusk. We finally got hit and Mike got us on the board with a 200 lb'er.
Day 2 started with a dorado on the balloon and things were looking up.

The rest of the day was spent drinking Pacificos and trying to find the missing case.
Finally at dusk again around the same spot as the previous night, James landed a 50 lb'er.

Alan stayed up until 4AM catching squid which led to a flurry of bites on the 3rd morning.
We put 5 youngsters in the 50-75 lb range on the boat in short order.

We ran to the second island where there was another boat that had four 200 lb'ers, we got zero.
Did get a few triggers.

Ran back to the first island where Alonso Osuna had 7 of the same size we had in the morning. Had a drive by that didn't stick and that was it.
Ben: did you catch any fish on those sweet Ohana jigs ?? Nice looking tuna and dodo so far.
Cheers:
Todd
The plan was to troll to the first island and do some inshore fishing.
We picked up a 150lb mako shark on the troll on a Nomad DTX minnow, processed it and that was it, headed for the barn.

Hey Todd,
We did not fish the jigs very hard.
I did a couple drops with the Ohana jig.
Roberto left a squid jig with an Esca light on it, out one night.
We also tried some artificial Savage Gear red crabs on the balloon.
None of them hooked up.
Not sure what time we got back to the marina. Probably slept a couple hours.
Left from an 8 hour inshore trip on Danny's boat with Captain Santiago.
We got into some small roosters and I also got a couple jacks.

Hey Steve,
Seemed like that jack was 20lbs but I don't think it was more than 5-7.
We released the jacks and tried to release all the roosters.
Good to see Miguel Vega working the big tuna.
