Question on my 1 year old reel that my friend bought me as a gift from Japan.

This metal stick is getting loose....

I mean it can slide up and down, but not OFF...

Anyway I could tie this thing up? Because I love the reel!

The main shaft is held in place by a screw that is in the body of the reel.  You will need to take off the crank handle, and open up the main body's side plate.  You should see the shaft entering the oscillating slider, and there should be a screw that holds the shaft in place.

As you go through it, and have any problems, please post pics of the entire reel and a close up of the area of the problem, and we hope we can assist further.

it might actually be just a bit of gear lash.  that's normal play in the gears.  that shaft looks like it's traveled an awfully long way down, though.
