Title: Recommendation for new braid
Post by: Chase106 on January 04, 2014, 09:27:55 AM
Hi, i have Shimano Stradic CI4+ 2500 and i need a new line.

I'm fishing in salt water and light rocky environment, so the line need a decent strength for abrasions. and if possible, have a good long casting.

Test: 10lb

American or Japanese, I don't care, as long as it have good performance (and have it on eBay).

Thank you  :)

10lb Spectra will cause you problems, I'd suggest 30lb at the low end and 40lb at the top end.

I prefer uncoated Specta, JB or Izor.   PM me and I'll give you a good price on JB for you to consider.

How do you cast 4 gram lure with 30lb line?

I think the line weight more then the lure.

Spectra is not mono, it is much liter and limp.

I have tried 10# eBay braid from China and it broke very easy.I would go with 20# fire line it had a thin diameter and cast good

I have great success with Power Pro Slick on my spinning reels. The 15 to 20 lb. test would be perfect for that great reel.
