Bill thanks for passing this along, it was a good read. Not sure I'll ever get to fish wahoo but at least I learned a little bit just in case

well, there are things that are addressed, and some things that are not.

bombs and jigs - i use 80 pound titanium that is crimped.  then i will will pull with a scale to 20 pounds to make sure that the crimp doesn't allow the line to slip.

bait - 2/0 j-hooks, 40 pound crimped titanium, pull-tested to 15 pounds.

reels - 50 pound leader minimum, 40 inches per crank minimum, 15 pounds of drag.

rod - 8-9 foot for casting.

concentrate on reeling.  when a wahoo hits, you are tempted to set the hook.  don't do it.  just keep reeling through.  concentrate on reeling through.  concentrate.  titanium is key.  crimp everything.  i had to make a crimper that would work.  pull with a scale to make sure your crimps don't slip.  the failure rate will be high, regardless.
