Title: Newell Color coding on spools

I'm looking at 6 jigmaster 500 sized Newell  spools.  Two have green dots, two have yellow dots an two have 500 stamped in yellow paint.  They appear identical in design.  Do the dots act as some kind of identifier?  Of course I get 500 stamped in yellow.
