Title: Zillionaire cv-z; stupid mistake

Hello, I am almost embarrassed to write this, but I need help. I have a daiwa zillionaire CV-Z that needed an overhaul. The mag force system in the left side plate got the best of me; it begged me, taunted me, teased me, outright DARED me to take it apart............So I disassembled it. Now, I am having the darnedest time trying to reassemble it. I cannot get the circular c clip/ring/sideplate reassembled. Any help greatly appreciated.

i'd really have to be able to look at it.  have you had any luck yet?

I've never done a Diawa but pictures would help.  Is the trouble the retainer ring (#2 in this schematic)?  Does it need C-clip piers to put it in?

You have to slide it in. If you know how its easy.

Here is a picture showing the retainer almost all the way in. You put both pieces together and feed it through
