Title: How to removing plastic disc.
Post by: stevelauw on February 10, 2012, 11:40:10 AM
Alan,

I have an Abu Ambassadeur Pro Max 1600 and I have been trying to remove the spool bearings for normal maintenance.

On the left hand side of the spool, there is a black plastic disc that has to be removed before one can access the bearing. In the schematic, it's listed as part 19381 and I think it's some sort of a pop-in thingy that you just press into place. The question I have is how do you remove it? I've been trying without success and I don't want to damage it.

Would you be able to advise??

Thanks

Steve

better yet, push it out from underneath by pushing on the bearing.

Took up your suggestion and managed to push it out from the inside without damaging the plastic disc. Fantastic!! Thanks Alan!!
