hopefully this ugly lady gets reduced to a small rain or change her track, our fishing town is mostly sand and a heavy rain wash out the roads pretty bad, many years ago a hurricane class 3 hit the town and it was a totally mess all over the places, destruyed pavemented rods, natural dry rivers or streams got water and destroyed 50% of the rods of the town, etc. etc.
hurricane Rosa is now a Cat 4 and its surroundings rains are now is hitting Los Cabos in Baja Sur, right now the eye of the hurricane is far from land but its expected to change its track directly to Baja Peninsula and continue that path accross Baja (just in my town towards Az and Co, USA) but hopefully its gets dregraded to a tropical storm or keep its track straight in the ocean.
for those who dont know where my small town is located here is map
and here is some info about Hurricane Rosa

Steelfish!
Hunker down Buddy Boy!
Check out the National Hurricane Center for the Eastern Pacific Area - BOOK MARK this site, you can track any future hurricanes in the area - then click on ROSA and you will read different charts on wind, movement, time of arrival, etc.

Post more as you see it. and Good Luck to you & your family,

thanks Wayne,
that same link its actually the last one of the 3 links I posted, but it already have the info for Rosa in one click
Take care my friend.
That projected track is way North. Stay safe down there!
Ron
Am I reading this right? Headed straight for Cedros?
Yep! Projected path puts Cedros at the eye's edge. I'd be concerned for the Cedros Island population. Dominick
looks like 50+ mph winds for Cedros Island
(https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/storm_graphics/EP20/refresh/EP202018_wind_probs_34_F120+png/145129.png)
And it looks to be 30+ mph winds for you Steelfish.
Please stay safe.
Wayne
Stay safe Alex!
Stay safe and keep us posted primo!
Alex, hopefully the storm will weaken before it hits you. Stay safe!
Good luck to you Alex. Some advance preparation and common sense goes a long way if it continues in your direction.
Be safe.

Well
Now there is no longer a hurricane Rosa , now its Tropical storm Rosa but it keeps the same track.
Still carry tons of water , more than any storm in the Last 50 years
Good for Cedros, that island can always use more rain.
Ron
Be safe compa!
thanks guys
Rosa is gone for good
but leaving a path of destruction on its way, some bridges felt, highway got divided on 2 or 3 different places, mayor city roads were washed down, tons of flood, water got inside of many homes and stores, my house roof was supposedly in good shape but after 10 hrs of rain lots of wet/damp spots started to appear on the ceiling just 2 or 3 of them finally leaked water, rain was for whole 16hr to 18hrs straight non-stop, good thing is that it didnt hit us with the force it was estimated of the damages would've been worst, good thing that there were not a single human life lost.
Time for some roof maintenance & repairing :-\
Hurricane Sergio was estimated to follow the same path than Rosa, but seems that it will continue its way to the West on the open sea, almost no chance to hit Baja.
few pics, just some of the worst
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIUAYYJLRI4
some kids got their Kayaks out to go for a ride on the flooded streets
Thanks for the report and photos Alex.
Sorry to hear about your roof, amigo. I hope you get to it and it is repaired before any more water comes. I pray you get no more water like THAT, looks like no fun at all.
Ron
Steelfish - So sorry for the tough times but so Grateful that you mentioned "Not a Life Lost". Keep us all posted on the aftermath!
Be careful up on that roof too Alex.
-steve
Life is more important then material things and be happy that you are your family are safe. The roof can be fixed. God bless and be safe Alex.
Joe
Glad to hear you are ok Amigo 8)
That's a lot of rain for San Felipe, I've seen the road into town like your pictures, many times.
I remember the big one in 1968, lots of major damage, lots of homes lost...
It pretty much took out all the Shrimp Boats, never really came back...
A real mess it was, took years to recover
Yeah, be careful up on that roof, Be Safe Alex!!!
Danny
My Parents live near San Felipe.
They got some biblical rain on Tuesday but the winds never showed up as predicted.
Thankfully.
My Dad and his "Water Volleyball Addicts" were in the pool Wednesday playing.
Nice.. I didnt knew some of the members were aware of the existanceos San Felipe, Baja
Pretty cool

My wife knows people that retired in San Felipe too Alex.
San Filipe was a fantasy "drive down to Baja" trip for me years ago. Because of time and lack of good company, I never made it past Rosirita!
We had a few roads on Kaua'i wash out back in April that looked like the ones in your pictures. Overall, your situation looks much worse. 2 ft. a rain in 2 hours! Several miles of major tourist destinations are still closed off due to major repairs, ongoing. Glad we live up on the hillside where the streams are still small.
Still a ways to go this year with this "El Ninio" weather thing.

I also live on ths hillside of the town so, I just see tons of water flowing to the see, the fundation of my house was built considering eartquakes and heavyrains and its also 2ft above the rest of the houses and streets, the arquitecth that build my house is also a good friend and put me aware of this situation about water getting into houses on heavy rains so, he made it that way.
el NiƱo season is still about to start, so more climatic changes and unexpected rains and storms are still on the list before 2018 is over.
Darn! We just hada another one pass to the south bout 500 miles away. More'er commin I guess... Gonna bea crap-shoot this Fall/Winter.
Calm, kayak friendly waters have been possible here lately, but the fishin don't seem to what it was last year...
Hurricane Sergio just took a hard turn right back towards land.
Looks like San Felipe is in the cross hairs again.
Batten down the hatches here comes round two.
Yeah,
I've been following the path also...
Batten down hatches ! Amigo
Might be a good one, second time around??? You never know?
Could be a ???
Let us know if it gets ugly, I can come down and help if needed...
Be safe Alex,
Dan
thanks Guys, really apprecite your good vibes and offer of help, for now the roof is done, I spend whole weekend on it, hopefully there is no more rain inside the house if Sergio want to touch land on north of Baja ;D
Im following really close the path of "Sergio" and seems like it makes the less desired moved... to land !!
luckily for me seems that its going to run way below San Felipe which it was in the original path, now seems that it will touch Baja Land more in the Baja Sur territory than Baja (north) but weather forecast mark some rain for us on friday too, just a bit but we really dont want a round 2, there are still lots of people still repairing the damages of Rosa no need to Sergio to knock our doors.
