Title: Jeepers Creaper
Post by: David Hall on April 08, 2018, 09:30:03 PM
Whoever it was that came up with this recipe.  Should be charged with assault.
My son brought this over yesterday and I had to try it.  Tasted really good, a mild teriyaki flavour, nice moist jerk, not hard chewing, a good cut of beef, and then the creep, and after finishing off a nice piece, the burn grew, and grew, and grew, My mouth is still burning.

Glad you warned us.   :D  I'll stay away from that one.  We haven't made any jerky in a while, have done it in both the dehydrator and the smoker with homemade marinade.  Ghost peppers are about as hot as I can handle, really prefer something a little milder, such as habanero, fatalii, or Caribbean Red.  We grew Reapers one year, to me they had no flavor at all, only PAIN.  ::)

Ain't really nothing to take the pain away from pepper parchment, milk or ice cream doesn't work.  :(

Amazing... and it turns out that Mr. Ed Currie, who bred the Carolina Reaper, has already cultivated a demonic thing called "Pepper X", which is twice as hot as the Reaper!  :o

There isn't much that scares me, but I've a healthy respect for the things that should.

More Pepper X info: https://www.chilipeppermadness.com/news/pepper-x-latest-news-and-information

Apparently, consuming one of these thermite bombs --if they eventually become available-- would be a form of pepper Russian Roulette; it just might kill you. Still, if Chili ever gets to eat one, I wanna see the video, too! ::)  :D

While I'd like to see the video too, I'm gonna come right out and say it.
Don't do it!

That article is horrible they can't even nail down their Scoville units on the Carolina Reaper and Pepper X
They're all over the place quoting how hot each is or possibly is. 2M, 8M, 16M, 318M, gimmee a break.

I'd take their Hot Ones Challenge, not problem.

I will be trying to get a bottle of Last Dab made from this Pepper X.

As for eating one, maybe, ya never know, but I can tell ya I'd chew it but not eat it.

John,
I think you have proven that you are one crazy hombre.
My Experience with the Reaper is someone hitting your tongue with a hammer.
That is the only way I can describe it.
I had about five scoops of Salsa that had three Reapers in it. About a quart size.
There is no way I would try anything hotter, or do that again. I didn't know what I was eating.
First two or three bites tasted pretty good. After the fifth, old painless came calling.
Luckily, I had a PBJ on hand to cool my taste buds down. Never Again.
It was pure agony. The Feet stomping type.
The Reaper's heat lies in the membrane of the pepper, not the seed.
That is why it lit you up. If the Reaper is a Branding Iron, The X pepper is pure Ghost Rider, Don't do it!
I can remember bringing those peppers home from work.
I laid out some paper towels and put some disposable gloves on.
Even the touch of those on your bare skin burn you, Leaving Welps.
When I opened the bag, a few little spiders came out.
That there was scary enough for me. I washed them off and carefully packaged them for your consumption. ;)
As a friend brother, you need to let this go, for me.
We all know, you are already the Man. ;)

Not true if you eat the hot stuff on a regular basis.
