Title: Baitcaster (low profile & rbc) with braided line retain waters
Post by: seegran on July 05, 2020, 05:21:13 PM
Hi,
Recently I was fishing inshore with both low profile and rbc using braided line, after few minutes I notice water from inshore drips down on my palm. My hand(palm) getting wet and uncomfortable.  :-[ Anyone had this issue. I did changed to new line..it still happens.
Note: It does not happen when using shallow spools. ???

I am posting this hoping anyone had this issue and manage to solve it.
Any feedback would be helpful.
Thnks.

sorry, Bud -- no sympathy for wet hands, while FISHING!!! ???
I'd be more concerned about where the salty water is going INSIDE the reel
ESPECIALLY, w/ shallow, PORTED spools

personally, I tend to pinch & squeeze the braid between thumb & index during retrieve, for proper tension on the spool w/ stop/pause/go presentations and/or lighter lures...  guess that wrings it out: plenty moisture on the leading edge of my forefinger & rod foregrip -- not so much, in the reel
