We're not supposed to get much, although it started an hour ago and I already see over an inch :-\.
I'm worried about my daughter up in Boston, I just got off the phone, she said they removed a 9 foot diameter icicle from the corner of her building.
Tomorrow high here will be 16, stay warm up there my friend.
right now they are calling for 4 - 8 in. with blizzard conditions. my daughter leaves for puerto rico 9am. tomorrow from jfk, my son is in new hampshire, not far from boston where your daughter is, boy boston dosen't need any more snow. , as long as we don't lose power we'll be ok,
We will take all of the snow you can spare.
we need more snow and rain, here in Arizona. It been in 70's + . I spent this morning spraying an acre of weeds.
60 here.
just watched boston and new york on the aussie news, not good
It's been in the 80's here all week. Makes for a nice Valentine's Day!
CAN YOU SEND SOME OF THAT SNOW OUR WAY PLEASE ;D ;D ;D Went fishing this morning and I think we were all done when it 75 and no breeze...No fish, but no work...I call that AOK
Yeah, just drove down the NY thruway. Nice ride for a snowmobile. Was coming down at a good rate up towards Woodstock and pretty much the whole way home. Usually takes an hour 45 this took 2&1/2. Not horrible but a couple of adult beverages WILL be on the menu tonight.
i was thinking of you bob also, i know your a northerner, as well as dom, don't know if darons going to get any
As of now JFK only has about 2" But the wind is starting to blow.
Mike
Mean while im 80 degree weather here in Cali ;D
Ok, so you guys with the 70's and 80's on the thermometer....5 degrees and the wind is HOWLING!! Eat your hearts out ::) :D

As much as we are enjoying the warm we need the cold and snow or this summer will be bad. Keep warm all.
well we lucked out, the storm took a turn for the better, i guess we got an inch of snow, streets are down to the pavement, still windy. it just seems the weather forecasters and the news people get their jollies terrorizing the public, i don't know if boston was as lucky. being close to the water ,we luck out alot of times with the water temps. hope all is safe, have a great sunday
Weather is hard to predict and they feel over kill is better than under.
16 degree high today, with wind gusts up to 60 MPH ::). I put the fire on at 4:30 AM in case we lose power, all is good so far. :-\
SAL!!! Shhhhhhhhh!
Be careful the chill factor makes it deadly outside. I was trapping in -35° with 25mph wind and nearly froze.

I hate this weather - same here
Boston had close to a couple of feet of new snow last time I checked. Very rough. I'm in Summit, NJ, tucked in behind the NY bight. Not that it's a sure thing, but we often escape the worst of coastal storms as they track east against Long Island. (Knock, knock.) Having said that, the wind was a b*tch last night and today, plumes of snow streaming off of roofs.
My daughter sent me a pic of her building in Boston, she's on the top floor.
(http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g431/pescatore1/unnamed%20boston.jpg) (http://s1101.photobucket.com/user/pescatore1/media/unnamed%20boston.jpg.html)
Too bad she took it after they removed a huge icicle from the corner of the building, she was getting water through the wall.
Looks like they're all doing fine.
On another note, its 2 degrees here at the moment and -16 wind chill. I heard on Fox local news they couldn't interwiew anyone this morning at the bus stop, their lips wouldn't move ;D

That's too cold!
Yeah Sal, it was -7 this A.M. I don't even want to guess what the wind chill was at. My dog doesn't want to go out in this. I gotta force her and she only lasts about 5 min. And that's with her boots and coat on. This is some scary weather. Stay warm.
Bob
I get chills just looking at the pictures and hearing how cold it is. Stay warm and safe my friends.
Ok, now I'm sick of the snow, we got 6" last night.
I must say though, I'm not sure its related to the cold temperature, but it sure looks beautiful. It is still coming down, but in ice chips, the snow appears to be covered with diamonds.
I took a couple of pics, but doesn't do it justice, I'm not sure you could see it.

Sal
i can see the ice chips pretty but yuck, we got around 4 in. and still coming down, enough already, more snow, freezing temps, hate it, but i saw the news last night, people had snow blowers cleaning off their roofs in boston, they have a bigger problem than we do, my nephew in georgia lost power 11;30 last night and is still out due to ice storm, no coffee no heat. stay safe all
We get snow like that when it's well below freezing.
My sister-in law is in Northern PA. She said it was 26 below with the wind factor. :o
We are getting some of this storm Octavia now. I don't know how you bay guys do it. I have lived in this area all my life and if we get 10" of snow, it pretty much shuts the place down.
We got 6" of the white stuff on Monday. Another 4" this morning. The wind chill is -20.
The actual temp tonight is supposed to be -11 without the wind chill.
I am ready to move South! ::)
We have room for you right down here. Lots of water and a nice shooting range too.
It's supposed to get down to 40 degrees tonight in S. Florida and I am freezing already. I don't know how you guys handle cold weather. I am not into it at all.
40 would feel like a heat wave to us. Tomorrow morning it should be 1, with -25 wind chill ::).

Tough Winter all around!!!
Yesterday in San Mateo, CA it was 72 Degrees, we had to use the A/C at lunch time, and I was working in shorts!
My son in Astoria, NY had their pipes freeze TWICE this week! It was colder yesterday in Astoria NY than Anchorage, Alaska!
So much for Global Warming...
Wayne
we have 6" coming, due to start anytime. ::) Wayne, get some of that homemade beer out of the barrel, I'm heading your way ;)
Sal!
Beer is here, we have 1/2 case left of the Steelhead Ale my son and I brewed for our Steelhead Fishing trip 2 weeks ago, still waiting for photos from the guys, once I do, I'll post our Trip to the Elk River, Port Orford, OR. It was a gully-washer! 9 1/2" of rain during the two days of fishing! Difficult conditions, but we caught fish! Landed on on my Dad's Mitchell Garcia 300 reel, he purchased in 1965! Memories.
Now if I can just find the sunblock lotion....
Wayne
Just got done shoveling 5" of snow with 1/2" of ice on top. felt like shoveling concrete ::).
I feel the same: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rloxx3RzuXQ
We got about 5" but no ice. Ho-hum. About a total of 28" on my back deck. It's been so cold this year that the concrete entrance pad outside, that leads up to my sliding glass doors heaved. This caused the sliders to bind. Difficult to open now. Spring can't come soon enough this year. >:(
Back to the 80s for us today. Life is good again. ;D
Just got in from clearing the drive way. This is what you would call crappy snow. The snow is so deep right now you need to pick up and throw the shovel full over the previous mound in order to clear it. One or two more good storms and than the snow blower will have trouble clearing it away. That's when I get in the truck with the garage door closed and just let it run :-[ it will get warmer :)
It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to go to work every day. My Neighbor across the street hasn't left his house all week or shoveled his driveway. He parks a car right in front of my House. Its not that he is old or retired. Just a Bum that mooches off his in laws.
I just got done shoveling it in. ;D

Reminds me of when I lived in town with our garage on a dead end alley. The wind blew a 3'-4' drift down the alley and being the last one on the alley had to shovel the entire thing to get out. My neighbors watched the entire time. I moved the snow being carefully to not to put it in front of my neighbors garages. When I got home from work that evening all of the snow in front of their garages was shoveled into the alley I just shoveled. I took my shovel and returned the favor. A week later it happened again and I was not so careful about where the snow went this time, well I did make sure it was in front of their garage doors, and then dumped water on the snow. It got well below freezing for the next week and I think they learned.

I hope I did not speak too soon.
It is 40 here in Dallas and raining cats and dogs. Rumor is upper 20s tomorrow. Sounds like ice day to me.
Now would be a good time for you to come on down, SharkHunter. We can head to a power plant lake and fish in 85 degree water. If you don't mind fog as thick as pea soup, that is.

By the way One Five, I was not trying to scam your name, just your reel. Post a pic when you get it!

If I do, I will chisel it off my wind shield.
No snow here in the PAC Northwest but at 4100 ft. was 7 degrees this morning. Thru another log in the wood stove and found something to do on a cold winter morning.

It's all in good fun. I can't believe I won the darn thing. Since I'm not the reel guru you guys are (90% of the reel models and mods you guys discuss is way over my head), I mostly enjoy the friendly banter and comaraderie of a bunch of dedicated and motivated people from all over the world. We ain't right in the head!
I really like the bass in your profile pic. If I make it to Texas, I'd love for you to show me a good lake. Lake Fork is on my bucket list, but so are some of the southern CA lakes (Castaic, etc.) And if you ever make it to GA, I have a place on Lake Eufaula that I will be happy to reciprocate. Been fishing that lake for 25 years, 8-14 is my personal best, but I'm gonna get a 10+ someday. The 8-14, I took her pic and let her go. The 99, I'll take her pic but keep her :)
It was a sunny 70 degrees here today in S GA. Rain is in the forecast.

If you make it to Texas, we can go wet a line. I fish Fork from time to time. It is about 70 miles from here. I caught two over 9 at Fork, but I never broke 10. I keep trying.
The fish in the picture was caught at Lake Ray Roberts. She weighed 8-2.
It made it up to 50 degrees here Today! Whoo Hooo!
All the snow has finally gone from the Driveway.
Winter Storm Thor is moving in Tomorrow. 8" to 12"
With a Storm named "Thor" It might just happen.
That much White stuff here would shut the place down.
I better hit the Store after work Tomorrow. Everyone wants Milk and Bread.
I want Beer and Toilet Paper! :D

Yeah, we got 4" more last night and now it's raining. Lovely weather we are having this year. Good luck out there Daron and take care!
Stay safe and warm. My colleague told me that he got 6" the other day on Long Island.
Just got done chopping 1" of ice off the driveway to make room for 8 to 10 inches of snow, expected by tomorrow. ::)
it's non stop, a bad winter, but not as bad as boston, stay safe my friend
We got pummeled here in Dallas. An inch of sleet, with a quarter inch of solid ice underneath, followed by about 4 inches of snow. Were it not for the snow, the roads would be skating rinks.
Of course, the sun came out at 6:30a, and the roads are melting fast. It will be time for sunscreen by noon.
Anyone need snow? come and get it, its free ::)
