As a invited deckhand I wanted to help as much as possible. ;) When things quieted down on the boat I had a secret agenda and it was to jig a little bit whenever possible. We had a lot of fun and caught some fish to keep. Eventually a large halibut swallowed one of Daves ocopus jigs and it was an ornery one and the leader broke and it was free again. So there was hope some other good fish had moved in nearby.
I wanted to fish one of my home made slab minnow jigs and grabbed another rod that was readied in my spare time.
It was just a few more minits to wait and something grabbed it. I tried to pass the rod to the closest person, butt they said nothing doing so I grabbed the go pro and got this for you. we released the fish and went home. Thanks, wish you were there. ???
