I am in Florida after ICAST show to test new Black Hole surf rods with Mike Basnite.
He cast about 700' using 12' prototype Black Hole Cape Cod Surf II Heavy rod with 8 oz sinker.
He even cast over 400' with light 1 1/2 oz - 2 oz wooden plug with the rod.
He said the rod is very versatile to cast 12 - 14 oz sinker as well as to cast 2 - 3 oz lures.

That is one heck of a cast. I need to learn his technique too.
wow! n throws 2 oz. also??? That technique ! No wonder I can't hit 600', I can't squat like that! Lol
