The G4000 is so heavy compare to other 4000 size reel .Compere to Dam Quick 4000 even spool is smaller , Its much heavier . The body about same weight but G4000 spool much heavier than Quick 4000 spool .
If look at from top the 2 spools have about same size drag but under spool G4000 have a huge teflon dish ,then open under spool there are several big drag washer ,2 ball bearing and strong spring .Note : the carbon washer was install by OhReely ,was a felt washer there

I got this reel from a friend he loved fishing for carp in exchange for a carp spot that I never catch any carp under 10 lbs .He said it's the best carp reel .To me every reel can be carp reel . Start out with 300 A and lost many fish with this, spool jump out of reel sometime then I switch to 306 ,no carp get away .
When moved to Texas , I caught my first King Mackerel on this reel with 20 Lbs test mono ,the drag is  so smooth and strong that the fish almost die when landed . Now I got another one from OhReely

If the active ingredient is reactive or volatile, then it will become weaker through use.

I think Fred mentioned in a post he uses coffee filters for that purpose. That might get you a few extra cycles.

Hello,

For those that use them, do you ever screen your chemicals to get the gunk out? I was thinking of using automotive paint filters for this.

Thanks,

Might also want to make sure that the rotor is snug to the shaft.  A very slightly loose rotor caused the bail to handle arm knock for me once.

Interesting. I noticed the bail wire on my 750SS just barely hits the screw that holds the aftermarket knob in place. Maybe my rotor is a hair loose. God this feels like the textbook definition of first world problems.

Sent an email to the SOA asking about a fuel surcharge on the June trip.  So far no surcharge is expected.  Bedding will be provided. Expect to need a Mexican VISA and license.
