Title: Daiwa drag material
Post by: BigT on February 12, 2010, 10:40:42 PM
Hi all,
Just out of interest... can anyone tell me what material the stock drag washers are made from in Daiwa reels like the Saltist 40?  They work fine while pristine but like in Alan's rebuild, they tear easily and also seem very prone to getting sticky.

The same material is in a lot of their mid and upper end small spinning reels. I'm swapping them all out of course, but just curious to learn what I can about it?

Cheers, BigT
