Title: Old Calcutta 250A
Post by: LAHossman on October 11, 2015, 04:51:56 PM
I have an old Calcutta that I am restoring for a friend. It was in really bad shape
but got it back into fighting shape. My question is, I am having trouble getting
the right side plate to fit properly back onto the frame. Like with other round
Shimano reels, you have to disengage the right side plate lever and lift the
thumb bar up on the frame. Usually that does the trick, but not now. I still
have a small gap above the back thumb screw. I am sure that I am missing
something. Little help please.

I leave the right side bearing and cast control cap off the reel until the side plate is attached. If the reel has a back up dog it might have gotten out of place. If the drag stack is right it should be no problem.
