I have a couple of ambassadeurs in which the IAR bearing is not working any more so I ordered some from mikesreelrepair.com
I managed to get the old IAR out of the reel's side plate, but now how do i get the new one in???? ??? ???
It should slip right in, unless the outer frame of the ARB is still stuck in the sideplate. Look closely. If you can't get the new ARB in the reel, I'll bet that's your problem
some of them don't slip that easily. i ruined and had to replace a side plate because i hammered too much.
the side plate has to be adequately supported from underneath with the outside of the side plate facing up. then you have to carefully press the bearing down. the side plates are very easy to bend, so be careful. alan
Thanks all for the feedback :D

What can I use to support the side plate safely? ???

What tool would you recommend for this purpose? ???
