well, apparently the biking community (pedal, not motor) is not as reliable or trustworthy as the fishing community is. if someone knows this guy, can you please have him send me a check for $67. he apparently is big in the houston, tx biking community. i sent him a bearing packer sometime back and he never paid for it. he's only responded to a couple of my emails and has since gone dark. maybe he died or something, who knows. his bill goes back to the end of october, 2016. alan

maybe his shirt is too tight and he can't find his checkbook...
pretty common with the bicyclers. steve
Houston is not far from me, but I'm not in the bicycle scene. So I don't know the guy. It's embarrassing that a Texan would stiff you Alan. Sorry he did that to you.
We should bomb his e-mail with requests for payment.

;D ;D ;D ;D
There's a huge Houston Asian Angler's group. I can always put out a blast there if needed.
naw, don't waste your time with this guy. i dunno. maybe he has terminal cancer and he's in chemo right now. who knows? there could be a perfectly legit reason. either way, i've written him off as a bad debt. not going to bother him anymore.
interestingly, when you google "spinningobjects@gmail.com," guess what comes up?
another bomb on its way from the other side of the world, black wall him on the bike forums, request that he quotes the cheque number when he pays the account, cheers donnyboat.
naw, leave him be. it's $67. what the hell do i care. besides, he probably needs the money more than i do. ;D

My virus protection blocks it.
Anyone check facebook? I'm not on it but I guess you might be able to search him out.
Sounds like he runs a small one man bikeshop out of a boat shed.
It does say he's part of an organization that donate bikes to needy kids.
Maybe he is on hard times. Not a spring chicken since he's been part of the bike scene since the 60's.
Karma will work it out one way or another.
indeed, it will.......

It's the principle though!
I'm envious of your "turn the other cheek" attitude, I would pursue them relentlessly.
If you decide one day you would actually rather like your $67 back, I would gladly chase it on your behalf. For all you put into the global fishing community, when someone kicks you they kick all of us >:(
no, thanks. got a weird email from him saying that he was waiting for "adapters." the only adapter is a small section of pipe with a 1/8th inch pipe thread that you can buy at any hardware store. you know, i had over 500 transactions in the last year, and he is the only guy that has not paid me. if somebody needs stuff, i just ship it out and tell them to mail me a check. i usually don't worry at all. so he did receive the bearing packer kit and he is waiting for me to ship some sort of adapter before he pays me??? go figure. :-\
I have need for someone to repack grease in bearings, maybe he can repay his debt by servicing everyone's bearings
Just teasing of course
Alan, I got an email from him today & in it he is trying to explain the situation. What he wants from you and he will pay you & pay you for any extras that he needs. Maybe a little prodding from us Ohana members did some good. It seems that communication between you two is ongoing so it is time for us to step back so you & him can do your thing. Rudy
I also had a reply from him with the same response.
He seems to be a little confused, but, genuine in wanting to honor his debt.
Hope he comes thru for you Alan.
Terry.
finally, 3 months late, i've been paid. he sent a little extra and wanted an extra needle kit. i'm also going to include some 1/8th inch pipe thread couplers. he's going to need them.
this guy is supposed to be some sort of whiz at building custom bikes. i'm just glad to be done with this. on the bright side, i'm happy to announce that i've had over 500 transactions for 2016 and everyone has been paid for. ;D
A successful public shaming.
Glad that worked out. I was afraid he was going to stiff you, and not pay.
maybe he's just busy and checks his email once every three months..... :-\
