Post by: steelfish on June 15, 2015, 06:32:47 PM
hey fellows, seems like the fishing season is wide opened right now, so what about posting pictures of your kids or grandkids fishing? (only kids fresh water and salt water welcome).
it doesnt matter if the pictures belongs to this season, last year or many years ago.. or decades ago  ;D

I will start with some current pictures and some older ones of my kids

Here are granddaughters Sophie and Olivia at Donner Lake.  No fish.

Here we are river rafting on the Truckee River.  That's when I discovered I am too old to fight the big rocks in the river.  Darn things are as hard as stone.   ;D Dominick

My daughter and granddaughter are more into hunting than fishing.

Daughter's buck from a few years back.

Your Granddaughter is still one of my favorite.

The youngest is just learning to walk, learning to fish is next. ;) His sister has got it down already. Everything except getting it off the hook. I don't have any recent pics of my oldest granddaughter, but she loves fishing also.

I like seeing the kids having fun. I didn't take too many hunting photos because in the state of California...some would look at it like child abuse, what a sad state of affairs. But, Steelfish really cool pics you have there.

Anyway here is some pictures of my son fishing. I did not upload many from his early years but I have tons. His first 3 day tuna trip on the SOA. Maybe a 25 lb  to 27 lb BFT when he was 11 years old.

He is 12 on this trip hooked to around a 50lb bluefin and notice the old school rod I had him on and sorry to say you cant see the Newell reel he was using.

Shaun is now 27 and here is a pic from our last trip. Again a BFT around 27 to
-30 lb BFT but as you can see he has gotten much bigger than the tuna but his hat is still backwards. ;D

that was a nice one LOL, and then they say... why you treat me like a kid ??
cool pics and nice too see he´s still fishing and having good memories with his pops

****************************************************************************

I will repeat my turn to post a pic of a good time with my older daughter
we caught the same fish at the same time, a nice sized triggerfish bit her hook and they ran like mad only to got all tangled up with my fishing line, we thought it was a double hook set but when we almost finished reeling the fish back realized it was the same fish.

This is a big Chum or Keta salmon. We were fishing on the bank of the Snohomish River and not having any luck. There were a couple guys in a boat tied up to shore that were just slaying them.  My son was frustrated because we weren't catching anything. The guys in the boat yelled over and asked if they could hook my son up with a fish. He hopped in the boat and they hooked him up with this fish. They also clued me in on what the "secret setup" they were using was. We came back the next weekend and got into some fish, but nothing that big...

My son Luke has been my #1 fishing buddy since he was a toddler.  He is 16 now and still fishes with me a few times a month.

Here he is with his first fish, at 2 yo (not sure why my eyes appear to be bulging out):

A couple of oldies but I like them. She is 24 now, man time flies. Sorry for the quality but when you are older you have pictures that are not digital. She caught her first trout with her own cast by the age of 4. I still have that Dept. store spin caster. The dog loved fishing also

Big red grouper before the storm. It was a good day we haven't been able to get out since the storm went by and now with hurricane Marie approaching we won't be able to go out again for a few more weeks it looks like.

this is a link to a video of a great day on Monterey Bay.  My oldest grandaughter came along and we limited out on the most perfect sea conditions.  She was only 10 and handled this fish like she had been there before.  what you dont see in the video is me catching a nice slug, my son on the net all the while Izzy at the stern with this nice king on the hook and another rod gets hit, Im yelling at my son to get mine in the net, the fish is not cooperating and Izzys getting tired, her dad just keep saying its win or lose Izzy, dont get beat by a fish!  the other rod gets yanked over board and sinks to the bottom, he gets my fish netted and its back to Izzy.

Ok this isn't a picture of him fishing, just helping. But i love it anyway.

Got a 28" snook off honeymoon island using cut ladyfish. Dude was as big around as a football. He's lucky they're outta season til august, he looked tasty. I released it back to the surf and followed it out a bit to make sure he made it. After a worrisome start he did swim away. I'll come back looking for him in 2 months.

And now i just wish I'd gotten a better overall pic of the fish.

Finally got to take my 10 yo grandson Evan fishing on Lake Eufaula in July. Hot as heck, so we fished from 7-10 each day, and a few hours in the evening. Caught his 1st largemouth, 1st striper, and even outfished me on crappie fishing. We both had an awesome time, although his culinary tastes in frozen stuffed crust pizza leaves a lot to be desired.

Thank you... He started fishing with me when he was 3-4yrs old and was my favorite fishing buddy.. We don't get to fish as much lately, because of his work schedule, friends and girls.. Maybe not in that order  ;)  ... But the kid would fish in a mud puddle in the road.... He loves fishing... I've got so many pics of him fishing I could drown this forum ::)

Hey uncle Joe , for your Birthday we are going to take you fishing.   You need to bring the boat and fishing poles .   Sounds like something my baby brother would say .   So when they showed up , I told them to go pick out a fishing pole .

Fished about 2 and half hours before we ran out of bait . Caught sheepheads ,black sea bass , grouper , mangrove snapper and grunts .    About 40 fish only 2 stayed for dinner .
