Title: Switching Aluminum to Graphite spools...
Post by: sundaytrucka on May 02, 2014, 12:28:05 AM
I recently bought a 338-F Blackie in good condition, and wanted to know if I can switch the aluminum spool currently on it, for a graphite 338 spool.

I plan to use it as my local surface iron reel, yellows and barracuda.

I wanted to know if any Newell 338 graphite spool will fit; possible?

Thank you,

Scott

It should fit without a problem.  The one issue that you should look into is the clicker system.  If you have a metal clicker, it's best to use a spool with a metal clicker rachet.
