Title: Penn VIS 130
Post by: Noahg727 on July 31, 2020, 01:26:24 PM
So Iv sent me Penn VIS 130 off to be painted. The man doing it is having issues removing the plastic housing attached to the spool. And suggestions on how to get it off? Here's a picture:

There should be a little lock pin that is secured to a little lever. Lift the lever then turn the drag plate cover. It looks like the lever is missing on the drag plate cover. If that's the case, you would likely have to break/cut the cover.

He most likely popped the clip off rather than lifting the tab.  If the pin is sticking up high enough you grab it with needle nose pliers and twist the cover off, otherwise as Bryan stated the cover needs to be cut off.
