Title: Akios
Post by: Scattergun2570 on January 06, 2019, 10:21:47 PM
I was wondering if anyone here has experience with these conventionals..I have hear that they are good reels,,some suggest that they are better than Abu Garcia..I want to set up a bait stick probably 11-12 ft..but I need left hand which Akios does make. Anyway,,any info would be greatly appreciated.

had an Akios Shuttle 555 lh for a couple of years. Nice reel. Basically a well built copy of a Swedish Abu - no bad thing. Good cast control mag and centrifugal. I've only used it for UK surf casting - no problems :) Quite a few plastic parts inside :-\ I havn't 'stress tested' it yet

Hmmm so not really any better than a Swede made Abu....so I assume it's pretty easy to work on.

The Akios Shuttle is, I believe, better than the Swedish one - basically because it has a very solid one piece frame, mag control, cf drag. It casts like a dream out of the box :)
If you have ever worked on any ABU you wont have problems with an Akios.
