Title: older Ambassadeur 5000 internal greasing and oiling
Post by: worknpreach on October 03, 2011, 08:31:39 PM
I have a bunch of older red cover ambassadeur 5000 reels from the 70's that I've been taking apart and cleaning up.  I could really use a video on proper cleaning and relubrication of these reels.  Not always sure what to oil and what to grease.  I also am not sure proper cleaning techniques.  Some say WD-40 and others soap and water .......etc.  Would like to do it correctly.

a video is a pretty big production.  try the photos for now.  video productions on this scale would be a huge undertaking.

Try this thread:  http://www.stripersonline.com/t/720350/abu-6000c-rebuild     It should be about the right reel for yours. If you do decide to remove that coil spring in that cage, up top, for the yoke, You'll regret it.
