Title: Cal's lite grease
Post by: Keta on February 15, 2012, 05:47:38 AM
I tested Cal's grease today, thanks Bryan, to see how it worked in below freezing conditions.  I degrease the drag washers on 2 5601 reels and re-greased one with Cal's original and one with the new lite grease.  I then set the drags to 10lbs and dropped the reels into the freezer.  Two hours later I took them out one at a time and retested the drag.   The new grease drag was 12lbs, the old grease spiked to 20lbs then a consistent 12lbs.  The new grease appearers to work a bit better than the old grease until it broke free then no difference.  I will order the lite grease and start using it.

It was a damp and windy day in the low 30s today.

That's a good question...Rob, what did Lee delete from your post?

Lee, I'm glad the grease worked out for you.

"Or did you just set them outside? ;D"

I guess Lee hit the "Modify" button instead of the "Quote" button. :-\ ???

You're right, and I didn't think it could happen. I thought only moderators or administrators could modify someone else's post. :-\  (In the interests of keeping the site 12-year-old friendly. :))
But because the buttons are side-by-side, I figured it was just an accident. 8)

NOT THIS TIME  I think we stumbled into a possible problem.

Sorry about the intentional edit of your last post, we have a problem here.

G'day Lee, I've noticed this before - it appears the originator of a thread can alter any subsequent posts to that thread...
I don't know if that's a usual feature as this is the only web forum I've ever joined.
All the best, Justin

It is much better now, two of the buttons on the upper right of others posts are now gone, just "quote".  Thanks Bryan.

funny, it's always been this way.  i see the edit buttons on all the posts, but i'm supposed to.  and since nobody ever gets into fights here, no one ever used the edit button.  took three years for someone to accidentally click the wrong button, and it had to be lee  ;D
