I am happily suprised at the quality of the Omoto I bought.  They have a loyal following on catfishing forums and the distributor seems to bend over backwards to address any issues quickly.  You apparently saw the discounted prices going on right now?  I think newer models are coming out and they are being closed out.  I have found that the parts interchange with those of the Abu 7000, who Omoto made as Abu's asian source for years.  Its drag is better and after a few small tarpon, a couple cobia, a couple little jewfish and some spinner sharks, the drag has not diminished.
