With the drop shot rig, would you hook the bait sideways through the nose or vertically starting from the lower jaw to the nose?

The great thing about this rig is you can drop it fast and get it to the zone before the fish are gone and it can't tangle.

It does limit the baits ability to swim a lot but it does still move around a lot.

  One more , stripping the line off the reel in free spool that the line was set at 23 pounds.
Look how clean it comes off .

When spooling wire rope onto a drum, it is necessary for the rope to come onto the drum at a very slight angle, just enough to encourage each wrap to sit tidily next to the previous wrap, and for each layer to ride cleanly onto the layer beneath.

The test today were set the base wrap , than let it wind itself . Stopped a couple times to fix a cross over .  For the most part you can see it is self leveling to build the first third of the spool .

This one is just let it run and do it`s owen thing . Had to hold the reel steady .

This one is the start of the second third of the spool . I did not hold the reel steady and the line did jumped a few times ,still has 23 pounds of drag coming off the supply spool.  You will see toward the end the reel drag is giving up .

6x19x6 QT. Its a cheap easy upgrade,I ordered the 3 bearings to make it worthwhile for the shipping costs.

Mine have same head as 110 and 220 ,chrome when worn out have brass color ,what is size of bearing you use on 265 , Good to hear that

I just installed the fast eddy ceramic bearing in this 265, it is really smooth ($4.99)! I Also installed one in a 220($5.99),not affiliated with FE at all,just impressed by their performance.Both reels were great before, but it made a notable difference.Also,they had a regular bearing for the Penn 712,best $1.25 ever Spent.
