Two of us went out on a quick 3 hour tour of the south shore ledge this afternoon. Currents looked good, marked lots of bait and flyers. We picked up a 31 lb Ono on a black/purple islander popper head in the long rigger position. Also has a short bite on the black/purple islander on the downrigger. Enjoyable afternoon to be sure.

It takes me one hour just to get to Wahoo grounds. Depending on where the blue water is...

My favorite fish to catch.

1lb fresh white fish cubed
3/4 cup unsweatened coconut milk
1/4 cup cocunut or rice vinegar
1/2 Red Onion sliced
3 tablespoons Olive Oil
3 Chili peppers diced
Salt and pepper to taste

Mix ingrediants, chill for 20minutes minimum

Serve with fresh cilantro sprigs and lime if desired

nice, I will try it, I would have never though about using coconut milk on a ceviche

That's not bad.  Our best Wahoo trolling grounds are 35nm from the headbouy, but we ocassionally catch fish a few yards outside the chanel.
