Title: Removing Knob p-332
Post by: Sulla on December 11, 2014, 04:51:10 AM
Hi Guys I'm new to this site. I can't believe the wealth of information here! Fantastic site.
I guess I'll start with a question. My handle is squeaking and I'm pretty sure it's coming from the knob. The problem is that there is plastic insert with the letter N on it and Im not sure how to get to the screw. I don't want to break it, but I want to get that knob off, clean it and add a little oil.

Bill

I just drill a small hole in the "N" & put a few drops of oil in it. Some times there isn't a screw, it's a rivet.

you could also drill a hole into the side.

What said works fine. I just had to drill a hole in one yesterday and put some oil in it. Problem solved. If you try to remove the plastic insert you may break it. This nice thing about those handles is that the spindle inside is SS where the standard handles are aluminum inside.

I had to make a phone call to a friend in Brooklyn NY to learn how to do this.
