I'm looking to buy a couple new trolling reels and wondered if anyone has experience with the Coldwater or Convector linecounters. I searched this forum but didn't find much about these reels. I'll be using the reels to troll for Muskie so the linecounter's accuracy isn't that important... a lot of short line trolling.
I've read mixed reviews especially for the coldwaters but if the reels have any shortcomings that are easily fixed or upgraded i'd prefer these over the more expensive Shimano Tekotas... although if the Tekotas are a lot better I'll go with them. The most important thing would be a smooth consistant drag and not having line creep when pulling big lures at higher speeds.
